  • Parents' Evening

    Fri 24 Nov 2023

    Parents’ Evening

We hope that you found the meeting with your child’s class teacher useful. Hopefully, the record sheet that you were given provided you with information to take away and refer to. If you have any further comments and questions, please speak to your child’s class teacher.

If you were unable to make the meeting, please contact your child’s class teacher to arrange another   appointment - it is extremely important that they are able to meet with you.

I know that class teachers will have spoken to you about your child’s attendance so far this term.  We try to update you regularly so you are aware of how many days your child has been absent from school as we know the impact of missing only a few days. We ask that you work with us to ensure that your child attends school regularly as good attendance goes hand in hand with good achievement.

  • Maths Week and ‘Dress Like a Rock Star’ Day

    Fri 17 Nov 2023

Maths Week and ‘Dress Like a Rock Star’ Day

We are celebrating Maths week in school from Monday 20th November to Friday 24th November. During our celebrations of Maths week, the children will be taking part in an inter-house Times Tables Rock Star battle. Our four houses, Abbey, Rose, Mill and Valley will battle it out over the week to see which house team can claim the title of Times Tables Champions.

To celebrate the final day of the battle, on Friday 24th November we would like the children to come to school dressed as rock stars!

A secure knowledge of times tables, and their associated division facts, form the foundations of many  elements of Maths and support mathematical learning and understanding in everyday life. We would  really appreciate your support in encouraging your child to practise their times tables using Times Tables Rockstars all year round but particularly during our Maths week. For our children in Nursey and             Reception, we are celebrating during Maths week being rock stars in Maths! Your child will be set a counting challenge on Class DoJo, which you can help them to take part in at home!

  • School Open Monday 13/11/2023

    Fri 10 Nov 2023

We have some great news to share with you… We will be back open on Monday (13.11.23) at 8:45am (or 8:00am if your child attends Breakfast Club).

The fire started in the ceiling void above the KS2 girls’ toilets. Repair work has been completed to ensure that it is safe for the children to return to school but all of the work to repair the damage isn’t finished. This means that the KS2 toilets will be out of use for a short time. We have made arrangements to ensure that all of our KS2 children will have access to toilets on their return to school.

I am so grateful to the staff at school who have worked so hard to ensure that the children have had access to online learning over the last two days. Thank you too, to those staff who have come into school to ensure that the repair work was quickly organised and we are able to open on Monday.
Thank you to all of you once again for your concern and messages of support – we have really appreciated it!

    Parents’ Evening
We have rescheduled Parents’ Evening but it will be in a slightly different format in order to ensure that the meetings take place outside of the school day.

We will be holding two sessions: Monday 20 November and Wednesday 22 November – the meetings will start at 3:30pm.

You will receive a letter about this on Monday. Please return your reply slip to school as soon as possible so that teachers can arrange new times for meetings.

We are looking forward to seeing you all again on Monday.

    Miss Clay

  • School Closure Update

    Thu 09 Nov 2023

Unfortunately, we have been advised to close school once again tomorrow in order for work to be undertaken on the area affected by the fire.

We are keen for the children to be in school but the children and staff members' safety is our priority and we have to follow the advice given. We know how disruptive this is to parents with regards to work and we're really sorry about this.

Teachers will contact you again today to organise tomorrow's online learning sessions.

Thank you so much for all your concern and support. We have really appreciated it.

We will be in touch tomorrow with an update.

    Miss Clay

Parents evening is postponed. Lessons will be online from 10am and then throughout the day. Your child’s class teacher will contact you with further information.  We will provide an update tomorrow when we have further information.

  • Team Around the School

    Fri 03 Nov 2023

Team Around the School Drop-in Session - Tuesday 7 November 2023

Our work with the ‘Team Around the School’ will begin at the end of November when we will have two Early Help workers (Mrs Grainger and Mr Cockburn) based in school one day a week (Wednesday). We are looking forward to being able to provide low-level support for our families through our Early Help workers being able to run drop-in sessions, deliver family support or work with groups or individual     children. More information about this has been shared on Class Dojo or is available from the school office.

Mrs Grainger, Miss Siveyer, Miss Taylor and I will be available from 2:30pm on Tuesday 7 November if you would like to pop into school to speak to us to find out more information. We would love to speak to you about the work and how we can be of help.
