PHYSICAL EDUCATION AT AINTREE DAVENHILL PRIMARY SCHOOL

Physical Education (PE) makes an extremely valuable contribution to our whole school curriculum. Within lessons, pupils are involved in developing their skills, knowledge and understanding within a range of physical activities so that they can perform with increasing competence and confidence. At Aintree Davenhill, P.E is always carried out in a safe and supportive environment and aims to make a valuable contribution to a pupil’s physical and emotional health, development and well being. Children are given the opportunity to take part in a wide variety of physical activities. Through MADCOS, the school receives the opportunity to take part in a variety of sports tournaments, competing against other schools in the area. The school uses specialist coaches for specific aspects of PE and to run after school clubs. School clubs are extremely important here at Aintree Davenhill and we have a wide range of extra curricular activities that are taught by a variety of dedicated and qualified staff. An example of some of the sports clubs we do are Football, Netball and Cross Country. Physical Education is led and managed in school by a team of staff including Mr Briscoe, Mr Hardwick, Mr Ellis, and Mrs Gray.
