Safer Internet Week - Monday 5-Friday 9 February 2024

Safer Internet Day is a global campaign to promote the safe and responsible use of technology, which calls on children and young people, parents, carers, teachers, social workers, law             enforcement, companies, policymakers and more, to help to create a better internet. Using the internet safely and positively is a key message that we promote in Aintree Davenhill, and          celebrating Safer Internet Day is a great opportunity for us to re-emphasise the online safety messages we deliver throughout the year. We would be delighted if you could join us in            celebrating the day by taking the opportunity to focus on online safety with your child, whatever their age.

This year’s theme is all about change and influence online and the ‘UK Safer Internet Centre’ have created a range of pages to help parents talk about these issues and ideas with their child, no matter how much time you have and, in an age-appropriate way. To help you with this, the UK Safer Internet Centre has created some free activities and information for parents and carers which are available at: Whether you have 5 minutes to start a conversation or hours to spare, there are top tips, quizzes and films which you can use at home with your child.

The official Safer Internet Day 2024 is on 6th February; however, in school we will be celebrating it all week with the theme Inspiring change? Making a difference, managing influence and   navigating change online. The children will be taking part in lots of different activities to         promote the importance of staying safe online.

Each day, we will post a link on the school story to web pages and guides containing useful hints and tips for keeping your child safe online at home.
