Despite our appeals, we have noticed that some families continue to bring dogs and puppies on to the playground. We have always asked that dogs are not brought onto the school premises - even those that can be carried, as we have concerns about dog fouling.
Recently, another child fell onto an area of grass during playtime and ended up with their sock covered in dog dirt. Children having contact with dog dirt can cause illness. Our caretakers do daily early morning checks of the school grounds but it is a large area to survey thoroughly.
So many of our families have dogs and do abide by the request not to bring them onto the school grounds, so it is unfair to them if others do not.
