Welcome to Reception
We are the reception children and are 4 and 5 years old. We are very lucky to have a fantastic classroom and outdoor area to work in. Our sheltered area means we can learn outside whatever the weather! We work very closely with our friends in nursery.

Our Curriculum
We are very flexible with our topics each half term as we plan from the children's interests. As well as our topic based learning there are some things that we do every single day. These areas of learning include Phonics and Maths plus Funky Fingers!
Autumn
What do I know about me?
Why are there so many leaves on the ground?
Spring
Who are the famous characters inside my books?
Should Goldilocks say sorry?
Summer
Are all minibeasts scary?
Who can I ask for help?
Parental Involvement
We value and acknowledge how important you are in your child’s education so each week you will receive a ‘Helping at Home’ booklet outlining the learning that is planned as well as some ideas and tips of things you can be doing at home to support your child.
Remember that if your child does something at home that amazes, impresses or they are particularly proud of you can fill in a ‘Magic Moments’ star to let us know and celebrate their successes!
Parents are invited in each half term for pop-ins where you will be able to share your child’s ‘Learning Journey’ with them and have a look around our fantastic learning environment. We also hold shared story time sessions where parents will be able to come along and listen to a story read by the teacher with their child.
