Welcome to Nursery
We are the Nursery children! We are all 3 and 4 years old and we like to learn by play and interaction with adults and other children. We like to be outside running, climbing, digging, and making dens. We also like to learn in a “hands on” way inside too! We learn lots of social skills, rule and routines during our time in nursery.

Topics we cover in Nursery
Each year our topics change depending on the interests and needs of the children. The Early Years Curriculum is flexible and adaptable. We still cover topics such as Christmas, Easter, and the Seasons (Autumn, Winter, Spring, Summer). We tend to have common interests each year such as: trains, fire fighters, police, hairdressing and themes linked to well known repetitive stories such as “Dear Zoo”, “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” and “We’re going on a bear hunt”. Our questions to start off our general topics are as follows:
Who lives in my house?
Where does the day go at night?
Which colours make you feel happy or sad?
What would you find at the farm?
Who goes to the ugly bug ball?
What can I do with water?

We also visit the local parks and shops throughout the year.
Our PE day is Wednesday. No need to bring a PE kit though, just a pair of pumps to change into. We are outdoors whenever possible! Leave a pair of wellies in the cloakroom at all times with your name in, always wear suitable outdoor shoes and have a coat with you.
