FRIDAY 22ND MAY NEWSLETTER

Dear Children and Parents

The last two weeks have been very busy in school while we have been making plans for some of you to safely return to school. As the Government wants children to work in much smaller classes, not everyone can return to school at the same time.

We now have a plan which we can start to use from Monday 15th June, so after half-term we will have two weeks to get classes ready for you. The teachers and teaching assistants came to small meetings on Tuesday and are keen to see children returning to our school.

Although you may have lost track, it will be half-term next week and school will be closed. So next week you can have a week off your lessons, unless of course you haven’t done very much work (as some parents have told me), in which case you’ll have to catch up!

I hope we get nice weather again next week so you can play out and have walks and bike rides.

I hope you liked the message from the staff this week, did you all see it on the website https://www.aintreedavenhill.net/staff-would-like-to-say-hello-to-all-the-children-/ or by using the link on Facebook? It made me cry watching it because we haven’t all been together as a school staff for a long time.

I also like the fabulous messages that Mr Dunford and Mrs McGowan’s classes sent to them. Year two have all grown so much I didn’t recognise half of you, especially those of you with much longer hair.

After half-term, when we have had even more guidance from the Government and Sefton Council, we will send out very detailed plans for returning some of you to school safely.

Nursery, Reception, Y1 and Y6 parents - If you haven’t already done so, could you please let us know, via Class Dojo, if you are intending to send your child back to school. I know some of you are waiting to see the details of our plans for returning children before you make a final decision but an indication would help.

Have a good half-term and keep washing those hands.
