Reading Week: Monday 2nd - Friday 6th March
As a launch for ‘Reading Week’ we have planned a whole school challenge! We would like all of the children and staff to photograph themselves reading a book in an unusual place. This could be anywhere, the more unusual the better! There will be a prize for the most creative in each class and a staff prize.
Entries must be in by Friday 27th February.
There is yet another challenge!
As a school we would love an author to visit us during ‘Reading Week’, however the author we would like is DAVID WALLIAMS! Did you see on ‘The One Show’ last night David Walliams announced that he will take to the sky and celebrate World Book Day with a one-day, World of David Walliams, multi-city tour by Helicopter - the #WalliamsWhirlwind Tour! David Walliams and HarperCollins Children's Books invite Primary Schools across the nation to enter the competition and be in with a chance to be a part of this unique celebration of ‘World Book Week’. We will be entering; however we also know that thousands of schools across the country will be doing the same, so we have come up with a cunning plan to be noticed! Mr Walliams has a twitter account @davidwalliams and if we all tweet him with the hashtag #WalliamsComeToAintree along with #WalliamsWhirlwind as much as possible we may just grab his attention! Let’s all get as many friends and family to tweet and see what happens next!
World Book Day - Thursday 5th March
On Thursday 5th March we will be joining in the World Book Day activities. Our theme this year will be ‘Roald Dahl’.
Please come to school dressed as a character from a Roald Dahl book.
