Procedures for dealing with snow/icy conditions

We will endeavour to remain open during snow/icy conditions.

Parents should

¨ Look at the school web-site, check your e-mail and texts or listen to Radio City or Radio Merseyside. The school will use all of these to publish its decision to close. If there is no information this means that the school will be open.

¨ Try to avoid ringing the school. Staff may be very busy.

¨ If we decide that it is safe to open, children should not arrive before 9am (this is because staff may be late)

¨ Don’t worry about arriving late. There will be no “Late Book” in operation on these occasions.

¨ We will only use one entrance to school this will be the Aintree Lane gate. Children should come into school through the double doors by the large hall.

During the school day

Once a decision has been made to open the school it is unlikely that school will close during the day. Should this be necessary we will text or ring parents. Children will be kept safe in school until parents can collect them.

If parents are delayed due to the adverse weather conditions, they should contact the school as soon as possible to give an anticipated arrival time.

Parents must consider their own safety, traffic congestion and safety of others in these circumstances.

Remote learning activities are available for children on the school website aintreedavenhill.net

Please ensure all contact information is up to date with Parentmail and the school office.
