19 March 2014
As you will be aware from the media, teachers in the NUT will be taking industrial action on the 26 March 2014. The action (a one day strike) will result in class or whole school closures across the country.
The decision to close the school or send pupils home is never taken lightly, but in this instance, where staff have elected to take lawful industrial action, I will have no choice but to take the appropriate steps to ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of all pupils.
We are aware that class/school closures inconvenience parents and careers and so I am writing to give you advance notice of the likely impact of the action on this school.
If the parties involved are unable to agree a settlement to the dispute and action goes ahead, the following arrangements will be in place for our school.
At the moment one teacher and two part time teachers will be involved in the strike action. School will be closed on 26 March 2014 for CLASS 3H ONLY.
All other classes will continue as normal.
Breakfast club and afterschool clubs will operate as normal for the classes remaining open.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
