GEOGRAPHY AT AINTREE DAVENHILL PRIMARY SCHOOL

At Aintree Davenhill Primary School, we believe that a high-quality geography education should inspire in pupils a curiosity and fascination about the world and its people that will remain with them for the rest of their lives. Pupils are equipped with knowledge about diverse places, people, resources and natural and human environments, together with a deep understanding of the Earth’s key physical and human processes. The geography curriculum across the school has been planned in such a way that children will be revisiting and building on their geographical knowledge throughout their school life. Key concepts and themes are revised frequently leading to a knowledge rich curriculum.  Within our units of work, much use is made of the local area of Aintree and the natural geographical features of Sefton including its coastlines, rivers, canals, countryside and towns.

The curriculum team take responsibility for managing the development of the geography curriculum, led by Mrs McGowan.
